so i hitched a ride home with kaklong, and after suffering through another one of my dad’s ‘i don’t understand why my children find it *so* hard to go to clinics, even when they work right next to one’ lectures, i snoozed almost up to maghrib.i was burning up, my body felt hypersensitive, like even putting on socks *hurt*, and my vision was kinda blurred, and my brain was woollier than ever…

not the they work right next to one part. I agree. Sometimes Ma doesn’t go to the clinic unless she’s super sick, but the moment we cough or sneeze,

“Go and put on baju cantik sikit. We’re going to the clinic.”

I mean, just go to the clinic la wei. Susah sangat ke? Hish. Oh and this is something I thought Kak Aida said was funny:

“Dah bagi lalu, tak nak lalu. Ee, penyet kang.”

When we went for Twilight. It’s funny cos Kak Aida is nice. And I find Malaysian comedy very comedic. Something about speaking Malay, I guess. Or I don’t know, maybe I’m just a jakun. Jakun jakun jakun.

What’s weird? I don’t know. I’m thinking everyone finds their families weird. Mine isn’t all that weird (most of the weirdness was encased in a single person, QL) but all the same, some of them ARE weird.

Anyways. That was a whole load of nonsense. I’m done spouting nonsense now.

So then we sat down and whatever, and Pa showed me how to do this that on the phone, and then the mangled doorbell rang. It was weird sounding. Oh yeah, the boys came, and then they announced that Althaf’s sick. Aww.

I just cleaned my room. IT IS SPOTLESS.

It’s not fair that he left so quickly. It’s not fair that his youngest daughter hadn’t seen him for months, and arrived too late to ever see him again. It’s not fair that his eldest grandson was too afraid to kiss him one last time. It’s not fair that his youngest grandson will never remember him. And it’s also unfair that his eldest grandchild never got the chance to see him alive one last time. All because some people couldn’t – wouldn’t – pick up the damn phone.

Of course I’m angry with the person, of course I wish he’d just picked up his damn phone. Every Monday I’m reminded of that, because every Monday he comes. Every Monday takes me back two years ago when I tried to get rid of him for the day just to see my grandfather again. Every Monday I hear my mother say to him that my grandfather is in the hospital; every Monday I see my parents leaving. Every Monday I remember how I woke up for no apparent reason with a bad feeling in my heart.

I woke up at 1.55 a.m. His time of death.

I remember how scared Cik Syira was when I broke down days before Raya because it would be the first without him.

I’m thankful that I got to spend almost twelve years of my life with my grandfather, the one who helped name me, the one who loved me, the one I was close to, the one person that never said no to me. But what about my brother? My cousins? They’re too young to remember him. My brother was only four when he left, my cousins were 2 and 1. What about them? 

Mmph. I shouldn’t go to the kubur on Sundays. It has a negative effect on me. What was it? Oh yes. Tomorrow is Hari Raya Eidladha. Ma will not be around, and I have no idea what the plan is.

I got a HTC Touch for the holidays. Which are almost over. Gila tak bleh blah kan? Haih. And I lent my aunt The Tales of Beedle The Bard, at which she let out a fan girl scream. So it is with her now, and I hope she doesn’t damage it. She won’t, hopefully because all her books are in brilliant condition. And I have warned her NOT TO FOLD DOWN THE PAGES.

It doesn’t matter that you’re gone, you’re with me and I don’t cry anymore because I know it’s bad for you. I’ve got Pa, he’s like you. At least, he’s the closest thing to you I’ve got now.

Ten o’ clock, the stage is set. My parents got my grandma and we went to MvM. Yeah then what? Oh right we split up, Mum gone looking for winter wear because the weather in Tulsa is just way too cold for her. -1 degrees is the lowest, and my mum can barely endure 19 degrees. So first went to Zara, saw nice ncie things but Mum didn’t get any because of it being ’not warm enough’ and then headed to MNG, which was almost exactly the same result. Next stop was Nafnaf, and Mum found her heaven.

Because Mum is in love with sales. At Nafnaf there was this three day offer going on, if you bought 3 discounted stuff, you’d get an extra 20% off. And so you can guess what Mum did.  She found everything she was looking for. (:

After that we went up to Little Penang, where the bridge to The Gardens was. Met up with Pa and Grannie there. Then went to the Gardens to look for the cinema. Wow. It looked chun. The floor was pretty. Yes the FLOOR was pretty. Tok Joan was already there! Where were the other three? Old Lady, Quiet Lady and Mischeivous Lady? Semua belum datang. Baik gila kan my aunts and cousin.

So we waited for them and then Old Lady and Quiet Lady arrived. Mischeivous Lady didn’t arrive until at least 5 minutes to showtime. So me and O&Q Ladies went up first. We sat down at the highhh place.

“Tak nak popcorn ke?” – OL
“I nak, tapi I pikir you tak nak.” – Me
“Kalau nak, jom gi beli.” – QL
“Lah. Dah masuk baru nak pergi.” *flares nostrils. – obviously Me.

So we went to get popcorn. Then we sat down for a while, and ML came (finally). Then the trailers started. Everytime a new one started ML would raise her arms and say “Yes!” Only to be disappointed because it wasn’t the movie.

What if I’m not the superhero? What if I’m… the bad guy?

I can never watch a movie with Nur Hanna Aziz EVER AGAIN. Expect we will be watching something again next year, maybe, but we have to learn to shut up by then. I kept making all these weird comments so sorry Na if you couldn’t watch properly.

Erm, Charlie’s like the Ron of Twilight. You know how in HP Ron always says the STUPIDEST things and does the FUNNIEST things? Charlie’s like that. I think my favourite scene was:

“We made Italian.”
“Will she like that?”
“Her name’s Bella!”
“Oh.” as if that made perfet sense.

Mmph. Then we had a debate as to WHERE TO GO FOR LUNCH? In the end ML just whirled round and said Secret Recipe lah. So that is what we had. Then we went to get her iPod speakers, but it was ‘too expensive’ (it was, but for speakers they were good) so then we went to go get her a belt. I kept looking at the ones she chose and going “There’s a scratch here! Tak elok. Tukar!” and they laughed at me.

Then after that she went home with Tok Joan. Just OL, QL and me. The first time I’ve been out without adults with them. First stop was (of course) Baskin Robbins. Ah CMR kesayanganku.

Then off to the Gardens to pick up QL’s wath from the repairs at Fossil, where they had some sort of photo shoot or something. The over to Robinson’s to get QL a notebook, and then we walked pointlessly around that floor.

“Where we going?” – QL
“I dunno, I was following you!”

How typical, eh? Then we went up to Borders, and I got The Tales Of Beedle The Bard. I was craving for a Potter bookof my own so I bought it although it was RM43 because I got a 15% discount for watching a movie the same day.

Don’t judge me. Amazingly, we berjalan a LOT and my Mum didn’t say anything about it. Because Mum dislikes me being out without adults. I can handle it la Ma.

So then went home, and I finally met Kak Aida’s dude. Will replace the word with husband next year.

Just to say one last thing: In your face, Wan! ROFLMAO.

Sheesh. Then my mum decided to get a massage. I thought ok, it’s only thirty minutes, but then she got the seventy minutes one! I had to sit there by myself for an hour plus; and these people spoke Mandarin about my shoes. How do I know? They kept pointing at them and looking.

And my mum finishes her massage, the masseuse just takes my shoe off and tries it on. Seriously, I was so terkejut ok. :O

Ok after that I got some pants. So it wasn’t a waste of time!

Ok, I have to go book a place now. Aladdin is gonna have like sixteen people round. :O

Ok, what’s been happening in my life? NOTHING because of a certain NurHannaAziz who forbade me to go see Twilight without her. If not I would’ve come with you, Alysha. HAH you know the real reason, I shouldn’t even lie. (:

But it’s  true, and when I saw that traitor today (along with Nadia and Old Woman) she said, ‘Dah tengok Twilight belum?’ ‘Belumlah!’

So I went to the opening of a Delifrance Cafe today. Lots of kiddies and people I didn’t know.

 By the way, when will our sleepover be? Alysha? Syuen? Hannah? Any ideas? And where? Mum’s going away for a while. Dad’s a bit easier to convince.

Watched Madagascar 2 yesterday. It was funny (jokes) but the plot was kind of boring. Anyways, I must continue my efforts now. It’s almost done! Got all the pictures, now it’s just to zip it up right, then off it goes!

On a more frivolous note, I went to Hannah’s house today, with Syuen. Alysha dropped by after etiquette class. Now I have a green coin purse from Hanoi. So after that we played loads of Taboo, and after my loud statements about Harry Potter, Hannah used him in every description. Yes yes, and she won because I’m such a great describer.

After that I got hungry. I went downstairs and Hannah so rajin made me pizza. I ate half a pizza at teatime. There’s something wrong with me. Then we went back upstairs and talked there for a while, and went back downstairs. We talked a lottt.

Syuen agrees with me on my story. I liiikee. And Han, thanks for having me.
